8:30 a.m. – American History
Class around a table to talk about World War I. My friends and I lead the discussion, and our teacher chimes in with some pretty thought-provoking questions to make sure we’re all awake and participating.
10:00 a.m. – Calculus
Almost hate to admit I’m starting to like math. Partly because the teacher is so energetic, partly because I know that tonight before study hall I can stop by and get some of my questions answered so I know what I’m doing with my homework.
1:00 p.m. – English
I’ve come such a long way with my writing. My teacher has really helped me find my voice. And I actually really like sharing my work with the class. There are only 12 of us, so I feel comfortable speaking up. They’re all so supportive and encouraging.
7:30 p.m. – Study hall
Having a little trouble with my calc homework, so I’m going to get some extra help from my teacher. Then it’s on to my history project. It’s so quiet, which is great because there are no distractions, and I need to focus.
