In 1901, Frederick Winsor founded Middlesex School in Concord, MA, as a non-denominational alternative to the church-affiliated boarding schools and academies in the Boston area. His founding mission statement lives on to this day: to find the promise in each student.
Middlesex students come from approximately 30 states and 20 countries and pursue academic excellence in small classes that challenge their intellects and imaginations. Extraordinary facilities support superb, inclusive programs in arts and athletics. Need-based financial aid is awarded to 35 percent of students.
Each year numerous Middlesex students are receive local, regional, and national recognition for their achievements in academics, arts, athletics, and service. More importantly, all graduates leave with the skills, confidence, and values needed to make a positive impact on the communities they will enter after Middlesex.
