Upper School student life at North Yarmouth Academy is active, inclusive, and full of opportunities to get involved. Students can choose from a wide variety of clubs and organizations, ranging from Model UN, and robotics to arts clubs, student government, and affinity groups. NYA students regularly take initiative to start new clubs, ensuring there is always space to pursue individual interests. Community service is an important part of the NYA experience. Students engage in service projects both on and off campus, contributing to local organizations and broader causes while developing leadership and a strong sense of responsibility. Traditions both new and old generate school spirit, like the Claw initiative, where the Upper School is divided into 4 teams that compete throughout the year for Claw points and bragging rights. Whether competing, performing, or showing support from the sidelines, students are deeply connected to their community. Combined with weekend activities for boarders, NYA’s student life cultivates belonging, balance, and pride in being part of the Panther community.
