Summary: Learning is guided by teachers and advisors who see their work as a calling and who care first and foremost about their boys. Boys are inspired to give their best effort because they know and feel that passion. The comprehensive and challenging curriculum is carefully designed to develop the skills, knowledge, habits, and mindsets needed to thrive and lead in today’s dynamic world.
Boys have unique ways of learning and developing. Everything we do at McCallie is customized to make boys’ learning exciting, engaging, and efficient. We carefully study research about how boys’ brains are wired and how they learn. Classrooms are active, hands-on, and often messy, with opportunities for movement, collaboration, and crashing into ideas—and sometimes even each other.

Summary: Our varsity athletes compete at the highest levels, regularly playing for and winning regional and state championships, along with top national rankings in sports like track and field, wrestling, rowing, and soccer. We're a school that's passionate about athletics for much more than the glory of victory. We believe strongly that a vibrant athletic program is part of our mission as a school to develop young men who are ready to lead and thrive in the world beyond McCallie.
McCallie offers 17 varsity athletics and more than 60 student-led organizations and clubs. Students interested in the fine arts can choose between 20 classes and subjects, and far more than half the student body participates in one of the two annual musical productions, Candlelight before the Christmas holidays and the spring musical production with Girls Preparatory School.
