Founded in 1913 and among this country's leading girls' schools, Hockaday offers a college-preparatory program for girls in grades PreK through 12 with a boarding department that begins in 8th. Classes average between student to teacher ratio of 10:1. The campus extends over 100 acres in the heart of northwest Dallas. Hockaday offers a thriving community that encourages the cornerstones on which it was founded: Scholarship, Character, Courtesy and Athletics. The school's Boarding Department is part of Hockaday s history and identity since its founding, accepting the first boarder in 1915. We promote an intimate and diverse boarding community with students coming to us from 13 countries and 8 different states. Hockaday residents are surrounded by endless opportunities to grow and develop as individuals- academically, athletically, artistically and socially. The girls gain independence and character development in a safe environment that offers small classes and economic diversity.
