The 2009 Ruzicka Compass Premier Leadership Award was presented to Thomas E. Wilcox at the TABS Annual Conference in Chicago on December 4. The Ruzicka Compass recognizes extraordinary contributions to the excellence, advancement, and success of boarding schools.
TABS Announces New Summer Program
TABS is happy to announce the launch of This is the Life: A Bootcamp for Staff New to Boarding School - a professional development opportunity designed for all newcomers: teachers, administrators, coaches and other staff. Join fellow newcomers in Boston this July to learn from boarding school veterans the nuances of boarding schools and some tricks of the trade to help you best serve your students — and maintain your independence. Topics include "the myth of the weekend," faculty culture, "being an adult in a kid's world," and even a panel of recent newcomers who will share the top ten things you MUST know as you take on THE life.
